Uzbekistan Seeks to Stabilize Oil and Gas Market Amid Price Concerns
Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has instructed officials to stabilize the oil and gas market, prevent price increases, and ensure a stable supply of hydrocarbon resources to the domestic market. The president was briefed on measures to maintain uninterrupted supplies to households and economic sectors during a presentation by government officials.
The meeting focused on oil and gas extraction, imports, processing, storage, and delivery. Officials highlighted the need for accurate demand calculations and prioritizing domestic market needs. They also emphasized the importance of adhering to delivery schedules and maintaining daily oversight across all operations.
JSC Uzbekneftegaz was instructed to maintain stable natural gas extraction rates and commission new wells on time. The company plans to commission 27 wells in August, which is expected to yield an additional 887,000 cubic meters of natural gas from the Yangi Kultak, Niyoz, Koratau, Marvarid, and Tegirmon fields.
The president also ordered steps to ensure uninterrupted operation of power supplies and production infrastructure. Officials were tasked with conducting daily analysis of domestic market needs, identifying supply risks early, and taking timely corrective action to maintain price stability.
