The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has secured a significant victory in its efforts to combat cryptocurrency-related fraud. The CFTC announced on September 30, 2026, that it had won a $31 million judgment against four defendants accused of operating a $21 million crypto trading scheme.

The CFTC's lawsuit alleged that the defendants had deceived investors about their ability to generate profits through cryptocurrency and precious metals investments. The agency claimed that the defendants used false statements and misleading marketing materials to lure in unsuspecting victims.
