AAVE Surges 16% as Tokenized Stocks Revolutionize DeFi Lending
AAVE price has surged more than 16% over the past move as traders react to Aave's expansion of its tokenized-equity lending market and renewed discussion around AAVE's tokenomics. This rally has pushed AAVE toward the $166, extending a sharp recovery from its September lows.
The major catalyst behind this move is Aave V4 on Base launching its Equities Hub, allowing eligible non-U.S. users to deposit seven Coinbase-issued tokenized U.S. stocks as collateral and borrow USDC against them. The initial lineup includes Apple, Amazon, Alphabet, Meta, Microsoft, Nvidia, and Tesla.
Aave founder Stani Kulechov has hinted at adding a token burn mechanism under Aavenomics 3.0, which could repurchase and burn AAVE from protocol revenue. This potential shift would mark a significant change in the way AAVE is managed.
