AbbVie Stock Rebounds on Positive Zumilokibart Results
AbbVie stock recovered in pre-market trading after the company reported positive Phase 2 results for its potential atopic dermatitis treatment, zumilokibart. The shares closed at $263.29 after falling 1.12% during the previous session, but moved to $264.10 in pre-market activity, gaining 0.31%. The study evaluated multiple doses of zumilokibart across 346 adult patients and found that all doses showed statistically significant improvements compared with placebo in EASI 90 and EASI 100 results.
The APEX Part B study used a randomized, double-blinded, placebo-controlled design to evaluate the treatment. Participants received low, mid, or high doses of zumilokibart or placebo during the 16-week induction period. The study measured treatment performance through the EASI-75 primary endpoint at Week 16.
The results showed that the mid-dose regimen delivered stronger results across key secondary endpoints and produced faster improvements during the trial period. AbbVie reported greater reductions in skin severity compared with placebo at Week 1, and improved itch reduction results by Week 2. The company plans to move the mid-dose regimen into Phase 3 development.
