Altcoin Price Surges Outpace Bitcoin as 'Uptober' Looms
Santiment's analysis suggests that the 'Uptober' phenomenon may be true, as some altcoins show stronger movements than Bitcoin. While Bitcoin rose by approximately 2.1% in the last week, certain altcoins experienced significant price increases, particularly those related to AI and real-world assets.
The platform noted a decline in social media interest for Bitcoin, with conversations about it on X, Reddit, Telegram, and other platforms decreasing by around 33% compared to the previous week. This low level of social interest is noteworthy even as Bitcoin approaches its local peak of approximately $87,300 recorded last week.
Santiment also highlighted that October being a historically strong period alone may not be enough for a bull run, and independent catalysts such as ETF demand, regulatory developments, interest rate policy, and mass adoption could play a more decisive role in price movements.
