Hayden Adams, founder of decentralized exchange Uniswap, revealed that Sam Bankman-Fried, former FTX CEO, purchased the domain 'Uniswap.com' for over $1 million in 2020. The domain was initially offered to Uniswap for the same price but was later redirected by Bankman-Fried to rival SushiSwap's website.

The move, according to Adams, was likely intended to 'flex his power and annoy us.' Uniswap Labs, the development company behind Uniswap, filed a complaint with WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organization) in September 2021, which ruled that the redirect constituted malicious use causing user confusion.

The domain was subsequently transferred back to Uniswap Labs. Adams stated that Uniswap did not pay any purchase fee to acquire the domain.
