Binance Injects $100M into Circle, Expands USDC Partnership
Circle's stock price surged 2.76% in pre-market trading on Tuesday after Binance announced a $100 million investment and expanded its partnership to promote the use of USDC across the exchange's platform.
The move follows Monday's 2.95% advance, when CRCL closed at $94.49. The investment saw Binance purchasing 1,237,011 Circle Class A shares at $80.84 each.
Circle and Binance have entered a five-year USDC commercial arrangement, with the exchange planning to broaden its use in savings and investment products. Binance will also offer incentives, including lower fees on some USDC trading pairs, as part of their agreement.
