Binance Leads $3 Billion BTC Outflow from Centralized Exchanges
Centralized exchanges have seen a significant outflow of Bitcoin in the past week, with over $3 billion worth of BTC withdrawn. The total amount is approximately 31,782 BTC, which has led to speculation about the reasons behind this movement. Binance was at the forefront of these withdrawals, accounting for around 19,500 BTC, followed closely by Coinbase Pro and Kraken.
The analysts at CryptoQuant have interpreted these large-scale withdrawals as a sign of accumulation behavior among Bitcoin holders. This means that rather than panicked sellers liquidating their positions, these investors are buying up more coins and taking them off the exchange ecosystem entirely. These outflows did not occur during an euphoric rally; instead, Bitcoin was trading in the mid-$80,000s throughout this period.
This trend is part of a larger pattern that has been building throughout 2026. According to historical data from Glassnode and CryptoQuant, increasing exchange outflows tend to correlate with reduced sell-side liquidity. This dynamic is particularly interesting as it coincides with reported inflows into US spot Bitcoin ETFs.
