Bitcoin (BTC) experienced a slight decline on October 6, trading at $85,543, down 1.02 percent from the previous day. Despite this dip, the cryptocurrency has gained 3.21 percent over the past week, reflecting an improvement in broader market sentiment.
The market has seen a rise in institutional demand, with US spot Bitcoin ETFs attracting around $2.65 billion in September. On-chain data indicates that holders are largely in profit, with minimal aggressive profit-taking. Additionally, derivatives activity is picking up, with open interest rising roughly 4.5 percent and around $105 million in shorts being liquidated.
Riya Sehgal, Research Analyst at Delta Exchange, noted that volatility has climbed from 36.7, suggesting traders are preparing for larger price swings. Nischal Shetty, Founder of WazirX, observed that the crypto market is showing signs of consolidation, with leading altcoins recording mild short-term declines despite broader positivity.
Analysts advise caution due to upcoming macroeconomic data, which could influence market movements in the near term.
