Bitcoin ETFs Escape Losing Streak as BTC Surges Back Above $81,000
U.S. spot bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) narrowly escaped their second consecutive losing week after attracting a record $433 million on Friday. This influx of capital saved the funds from a significant drawdown, as they finished the week ending September 18 with a net inflow of $6.2 million, according to SoSoValue data.
The funds' weekly inflows were heavily influenced by Bitcoin's price action. After two weeks below $81,000, the asset surged back above this threshold on Friday, reaching $82,100 early on Monday. Fidelity's FBTC ETF supplied $310.7 million of Friday's total, with BlackRock's IBIT contributing $108.4 million.
However, not all crypto funds fared as well. Ether funds shed $140 million for the week, ending a four-week streak that had collected $1.94 billion, even after taking in $143.8 million on Friday.
