Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana Purchases Continue Despite Slowed Price Rise
Despite the slowed price rise of major cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana, treasury companies continue to make significant purchases. Strategy, the world's largest publicly traded Bitcoin holder, has added 1,665 BTC to its holdings, bringing its total to 847,666 BTC.
Strategy's founder, Michael Saylor, noted that the company's dollar-denominated assets could cover current preferred stock dividends and interest payments for approximately 3.8 years. The company also repurchased $152 million worth of preferred shares in STRC.
Bitmine, the world's largest holder of Ethereum, has purchased an additional 17,362 ETH, bringing its total holdings to 6,001,302 ETH. This represents 4.9% of the total circulating ETH supply.
According to Bitmine Chairman Tom Lee, 'accumulating almost 5% of the total ETH supply' has brought significant synergies and positive network effects. He predicts that institutions will increase their positions in cryptocurrencies by the end of 2026.
DeFi Development Corp., a Nasdaq-listed company, has also made purchases, adding 47,706 Solana to its holdings, bringing the total to 2.54 million SOL.
