Bitcoin Hits $77K But Fails To Break Through $80K Resistance
The Bitcoin price has continued its upward trend, reaching $77,100 on August 24. Despite this milestone, analysts are warning that a potential reversal could occur if the price surpasses the $80,000 mark.
This resistance zone is identified by Jelle, a crypto market analyst, who notes that it coincides with the convergence of the 50-week and 100-week exponential moving averages. A sustained move above this cluster would improve the medium-term structure, but failure to do so could direct attention back toward reclaimed support from recent advances.
The current drawdown has been relatively shallow compared to previous bear-market bottoms, according to Glassnode research. However, market structure, liquidity conditions, and institutional participation differ across cycles, making it difficult to predict the future trajectory of Bitcoin's price.
