Bitcoin Holds Firm Near $84,000 Amid Rate Uncertainty and Geopolitical Tensions
Bitcoin is holding steady near $84,000 despite concerns over rate and geopolitical risks. The cryptocurrency market remains in consolidation mode, with strong institutional demand providing support to prevent a significant decline. However, elevated US Treasury yields, rate uncertainty, and geopolitical tensions are limiting the upside.
Purvang Mashru, Lead Analyst at BitDelta India, noted that Bitcoin slipped 0.4% to $84,028 in the 24 hours to September 28. Ethereum fell 0.8% to $2,672, while several major altcoins posted modest gains. A key support zone for Bitcoin is around $83,300-$84,000, with the $85,000 area remaining an immediate hurdle.
Analysts believe that the recent pullback in Bitcoin's price reflects a combination of factors, including elevated US Treasury yields, profit-taking after the cryptocurrency's move above $87,000, cooling ETF momentum, and positioning after derivatives expiry. According to Avinash Shekhar, Co-Founder & CEO of Pi42, Bitcoin's current consolidation is becoming a test of how much geopolitical uncertainty the market can absorb.
