Bitcoin Price Stalls Below $80,000 Amid Accumulation-Expansion Limbo

The Bitcoin price has stalled below $80,000 as it remains in limbo between accumulation and expansion zones. According to CryptoQuant's DTMM reading, which stood at 2.03, the market is not yet in a strong expansion phase but has also moved beyond the level associated with deeper accumulation.

Short-term holders have been leading profit-taking, with nearly $1 billion in realized profits recorded over seven days. However, this selling pressure has been offset by whale demand, which continues to absorb the realized gains. Retail investors, on the other hand, are still selling, represented by the orange group in the BTC CVD indicator.

The market's position between accumulation and expansion zones is reflected in various indicators, including funding rates remaining close to neutral at 0.0056 and a negative Coinbase Premium Index on both daily and hourly timeframes. This suggests weak spot buying pressure from the United States, keeping the price of Bitcoin in a holding pattern.
