Bitcoin Treasury Companies Eye Share of $318.5T Global Markets
Michael Saylor, founder and executive chairman of Strategy Inc., believes that bitcoin treasury companies can win a share of the $318.5 trillion global capital markets.
Saylor's company, Strategy, is one of two competing bitcoin treasury companies, alongside Strive Inc., which has allocated part of its treasury to Strategy's preferred stock.
The opportunity for growth in this space is significant, with Saylor pointing out that even a small allocation could represent substantial sums. He notes that $318.5 trillion is the combined total of global equity capitalization and fixed-income debt outstanding at year-end 2025.
Saylor distinguishes between bitcoin for long-term allocations, preferred stocks for income, and treasury-company common shares for growth capital. He believes that broader acceptance of preferred-stock products could improve funding terms and potentially benefit companies like Strategy through analyst coverage, institutional research, trading infrastructure, and distribution.
