Bitfinex has announced that its users can access liquidity through the Bitfinex Borrow platform by using Bitcoin as collateral. This comes at a time when Bitcoin is trading at an elevated price of $84,000. The service functions as a peer-to-peer lending platform, allowing borrowers and lenders to set their own loan terms.

To access loans, users must transfer collateral (such as BTC) to a margin wallet and complete account verification steps. This includes stricter requirements for borrowing fiat currency. The platform specifies minimum and maximum loan amounts, margin requirements, risk of collateral liquidation, and options for both variable and fixed interest rates.

One notable aspect is the ability to repay loans early with no penalties or additional fees. Bitfinex also provides detailed risk disclosures to users before they take on a loan.
