Bitget Hack Exposes Exchange Security Weaknesses Amid AlphaPepe's Rapid Fundraising

Share

The largest reported crypto exchange breach of 2026 has occurred at Bitget, with unauthorized transfers affecting approximately $351.6 million.

Bitget's systems detected the issue on September 24 and temporarily suspended withdrawals while working with law enforcement and onchain security firms.

The affected loss is covered by Bitget's User Protection Fund, which is worth more than the reported loss.

Meanwhile, AlphaPepe has raised over $2.79 million in Stage 20, giving buyers an entry point before its first public exchange chart and open-market price discovery.
