Bitmine Buys $14.3 Million in Ethereum, Sees Easing Financial Conditions as Crypto Boost
Bitmine Immersion Technologies has made another significant Ethereum purchase, buying 7,391 ETH for $14.3 million last week. This acquisition brings their total holdings to 5,805,238 ETH, worth approximately $11.2 billion at the current price of $1,928 per coin.
The company now holds about 4.8% of Ethereum's total circulating supply and is 96% of the way towards its stated goal of owning 5%. This purchase marks the 14th consecutive month that Bitmine has bought ETH as part of their Ethereum treasury strategy, which they adopted in June 2025.
Chairman Tom Lee believes that easing financial conditions will be a positive factor for cryptocurrencies. He pointed to softer inflation and jobs data, including July's nonfarm payrolls falling by 23,000, which has reduced the odds of a September Fed rate hike from 75% to 40%. 'We expect easing financial conditions to be a tailwind for crypto,' Lee said.
Bitmine also repurchased 3 million common shares last week under their $4 billion buyback program. Since July 1, they have bought back 19.1 million shares. Lee believes that this pattern supports continued confidence in BMNR shares and notes that ETH outperformed Bitcoin by 1,100 basis points in July, a move that has occurred before and been followed by strong gains in BMNR shares.
Bitmine's staking revenue is also worth noting, with 5,067,309 ETH staked through their MAVAN validator platform. This represents 87% of their total holdings and is worth approximately $9.8 billion at current prices. The 7-day annualized staking yield sits at 2.63%, projecting $257 million in annualized staking revenues.
