Bitvavo Unveils Web3 Wallet with Access to 15,000+ Crypto Assets

Bitvavo has introduced a Web3 wallet to its app, allowing users to access over 15,000 crypto assets beyond those listed on the Bitvavo exchange. This self-custodial wallet lets users interact directly with blockchain networks and manage their Web3 assets in one dedicated environment.

The Web3 wallet is available inside the Bitvavo app and can be set up by opening a user's profile, selecting the Web3 wallet option, confirming credentials, and adding crypto from their Bitvavo account or another wallet. Users can then start exploring and swapping supported assets.

Unlike traditional exchange accounts, which are held within a regulated custody structure, the Web3 wallet is self-custodial, meaning users control their private key and make on-chain transactions directly. This increased responsibility comes with risks, including permanent loss of assets if sent to the wrong address or via an unsupported network.

Bitvavo notes that the Web3 wallet is provided by Vavo Web3 Limited, a separate entity from Bitvavo B.V., and is not regulated under MiCA. Users are advised to exercise caution when using the Web3 wallet and review every transaction before confirming.
