Bitwise Kills Off Dogecoin ETF, Leaving DOGE Price Vulnerable

Bitwise announced it would shut down its Dogecoin ETF, BWOW, on September 10. The fund will liquidate and close by October 14, with remaining funds paid to shareholders around October 22.

The closure of BWOW comes less than a year after the ETF launched on November 26, 2025. Bitwise introduced it to give investors exposure to Dogecoin without directly owning DOGE.

Despite the fund's low institutional interest, with a negative cumulative flow of $1.23 million and total assets of $690,490, Bitwise cited simplifying its product lineup and meeting changing investor needs as reasons for the closure.

Dogecoin traders are concerned about the price of DOGE, which is currently trading around $0.0843 after failing to stay above $0.0855. If it falls below the support zone of $0.082, $0.084, the price could drop toward the key $0.08 level.
