Bybit Derivatives Volume Hits $321B as Crypto Market Sees Broader Recovery
Bybit's derivatives trading volume reached $321 billion in August, marking a 14.9% increase from the previous month, according to data cited in the CoinDesk Research report on centralized exchange activity.
This growth came amid a broader recovery across CEXs in August, with combined trading volumes climbing 12.7% to $4.29 trillion, rebounding from multi-year lows recorded in July.
The spot markets led the rebound, up by 18.7%, while derivatives volumes rose 11.3% across CEXs overall.
The surge was driven by a rise in crypto prices, with Bitcoin recovering from roughly $63,000 at the start of the month to a three-month high above $80,000 by August 25, sparked by US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent's announcement to dampen Treasury yields.
