The Cardano Foundation has joined Mastercard's Crypto Partner Program to explore integrating public blockchain infrastructure with global finance systems. This partnership will enable Cardano to work directly with Mastercard and other industry peers to accelerate research and experimentation in digital asset settlements and related services.

Cardano's inclusion in the program is part of its ongoing drive to expand the real-world utility of its platform, particularly through its agentic economy model. This model allows AI agents to autonomously manage on-chain transactions for users and applications.

The foundation has also made significant technical advancements with the integration of its native blockchain with the x402 repository via Masumi. This implementation enables x402 payments to be made natively on Cardano, opening new possibilities for automation and smart transactions in the ecosystem.
