Cardano Surges 10% to Highest Level Since May Outshining Bitcoin
Cardano (ADA) surged 10% in the last 24 hours, reaching its highest price since May. This rally stands out as Bitcoin and Ethereum posted only modest gains of 1% and 0.5%, respectively. According to CoinDesk, ADA's price rose above $0.27, marking a standout performance in an otherwise quiet day for major cryptocurrencies.
The reasons behind Cardano's rally remain unclear, but CoinDesk highlighted two potential factors: the launch of the RealFi product and the upcoming Dijkstra upgrade. RealFi, announced on October 1, allows users to invest stablecoins into institutional loans, offering returns of up to 9% annually. This development may be driving interest in revenue-focused products tied to Cardano.
The first phase of the Dijkstra era, planned for late 2026 to early 2027, focuses on scaling and network optimization. This phase aims to boost the network's transaction capacity through Linear Leios and interleaved transactions, which could be another reason for the surge in interest and price.
While Bitcoin remained within the $84,000, $87,000 range, ADA's double-digit gain drew significant attention, showcasing its outperformance compared to other top cryptocurrencies.
