Cardano’s ADA Surges 11% as Bitcoin Struggles Near $87K
Cardano’s ADA token surged by approximately 11%, reaching around $0.27, its highest level since May. This significant rise came as most other major cryptocurrencies saw only modest gains. Bitcoin, for instance, failed to breach the $87,000 mark, highlighting ADA’s standout performance in a relatively sluggish market.
The crypto sector also saw notable activity in other areas. Aave’s AAVE token experienced a 68% surge in trading volume, pushing its price toward $190 despite broader market softness. Derivatives trading amplified this movement, indicating heightened interest in AAVE.
In Bitcoin news, the cryptocurrency neared $87,000 following a weaker-than-expected U.S. jobs report. Employers added just 29,000 jobs in September, well below the anticipated 90,000, while unemployment rose to 4.2%. Wage growth also missed forecasts, contributing to Bitcoin’s upward momentum.
Meanwhile, South Korea’s crypto exchange sector faced a significant downturn, with operating profits plummeting by 78% in the first half of 2026 compared to the previous six months. Additionally, Bitcoin derivatives activity spiked ahead of the U.S. jobs report, with open interest nearing $56.7 billion.
