Celestia (TIA) Suffers 7% Loss Amid Market Deleveraging and Reversal
Celestia (TIA) lost about 7% of its value over the last 24 hours due to market-wide deleveraging and a reversal in risk appetite. The decline coincided with a sharp pullback in leveraged crypto markets, resulting in hundreds of millions of dollars' worth of long liquidations across major cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum.
According to reports, over $400 million of long positions were liquidated across majors in 24 hours, while Bitcoin saw long liquidations ranging from $200 million to $280 million within a few hours as its price dipped below the mid-$80k region. Ether also experienced tens of millions of dollars' worth of long liquidations in single hours.
Celestia's own setup and intraday path appear to be a classic 'overbought then unwind' pattern, with prices trading from around $0.49 to a high of roughly $0.53 before sliding back down to around $0.47. This spike and reversal imply that the token was overextended and ripe for profit-taking and shorting.
The decline is attributed to system-wide reduction in leverage and risk appetite, with Celestia likely moving as part of a broader wave rather than an isolated event. Recent project announcements or major unlocks do not appear to be the dominant cause of this specific move, with only relatively small incremental supply changes occurring.
