Circle Bolsters Plasma Network with Native USDC and EURC Support
Circle, a leading stablecoin issuer, has added native USDC and EURC support to its Plasma network. This move gives developers access to Circle-issued dollar and euro tokens and enables seamless cross-chain transfers using Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP).
The deployment allows eligible institutional traders and teams to access fiat on/offramps for USDC payments and settlement, along with deposit, withdrawal, and API functionality. Users can also access USDC through Plasma One, the network's stablecoin app and card.
Circle has published mainnet contract addresses for both tokens, with a maximum total supply of 4,654,322.737666 USDC and 12,866.64 EURC. Developers can integrate these tokens into Plasma applications using Circle's Bridge Kit, which packages the cross-chain transfer process in approximately 10 lines of code.
The addition of native USDC and EURC on Plasma extends the network's capabilities for fast and low-cost stablecoin payments. This move is part of Circle's efforts to provide a comprehensive platform for institutional traders and teams.
