Circle, the issuer of the USDC stablecoin, has signed a sponsorship deal with Chelsea Football Club. The company will feature its name and the USDC brand on the team's jerseys for the 2026/2027 season.

The announcement comes just months after the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) warned Premier League clubs about sponsorship arrangements involving unauthorized financial firms, including crypto-related businesses.

Circle claims that it is authorized to provide certain financial services in the UK through its subsidiary, Circle UK Trading Limited. However, USDC is issued by regulated affiliates but not under UK law.
