Circle's Arc Aims to Revolutionize Economy with Regulated Blockchain

Share

Circle's CEO Jeremy Allaire believes the company's latest launch, Arc, may be its most consequential platform yet. The blockchain and full-stack platform was launched on September 16 with over 100 institutional partners, including global banks and AI platforms.

Allaire likens Arc to an Android operating system for the economy, facilitating payments, lending, trading, and even commerce between AI agents. He notes that machines will not tolerate money sleeping on weekends, as humans do.

The platform is designed with regulatory compliance in mind, meeting standards for central banks and regulators. Allaire emphasizes that Arc's technology needs to stand up to scrutiny, despite being a general-purpose tech that can be used for thousands of use cases.

Allaire also discussed the future of trading desks, predicting that they will become increasingly driven by AI agents. He believes this will lead to a convergence of agentic infrastructure and economic infrastructure, creating the 'agentic economy.'
