Citigroup Sees 35% Upside for Bitcoin, Raises Price Target to $113,000

Citigroup has revised its Bitcoin price target to $113,000, up from $82,000, in an about-face that reflects shifting market sentiment. The bank's research team pointed to a mix of macro and regulatory factors behind the upgrade, including concerns about currency debasement and US Treasury bond buybacks.

The $5 billion inflow forecast is significant, with Citigroup expecting financial advisors and brokerages to gradually expand their crypto allocations over the next 12 months. This growth could be driven by a recovering ETF market, with estimated inflows of around $800 million in late September 2026.

Citigroup's revised target for Ether sits at $3,028, up from $2,240, representing a similar 35% increase as Bitcoin's price target. The bank's optimism comes despite the industry facing legislative hurdles, but SEC rulemaking has given market sentiment a lift.
