Clearpool Migrates to XRP Ledger with CLEAR Token Swap
Clearpool, an institutional credit marketplace, has finalized its decision to migrate its operations to the XRP Ledger (XRPL) following a community vote. The proposal, which received overwhelming support with 97.16% in favor, marks a significant expansion for the platform and the migration of its native CPOOL token to a new asset, CLEAR. This move is part of a broader strategy to enhance on-chain lending backed by real-world assets (RWA Private Credit) in partnership with Ripple.
The migration process, set for the fourth quarter of 2026, will involve a 1:1 token swap from CPOOL to CLEAR. The new CLEAR token will have an initial supply of 1.125 billion tokens, up from CPOOL's 1 billion. To mitigate dilution, 70% of the new supply will be distributed to current CPOOL holders. The remaining supply will be managed through a deflationary mechanism, where half of all platform fees will be used to buy back and burn CLEAR tokens.
The technological framework for this expansion is built on XRP Ledger's native standards, including XLS-65 for regulated single-asset pools and XLS-66 for unsecured lending protocols. These amendments are currently being tested on Devnet and await approval from 80% of validators before full deployment on the XRPL mainnet. The market has already reacted positively to the news, with CPOOL breaking out of a year-long accumulation range and reaching $0.036554, with a potential target of $0.101003.
