CME Group is expanding its cryptocurrency derivatives lineup by adding futures contracts for Bitcoin Cash (BCH) and Uniswap (UNI). Trading in both assets will begin on October 19, subject to regulatory review. The introduction of BCH and UNI futures provides market participants with more options for managing their exposure to these digital assets.

The standard futures contract for BCH will be based on 250 units of the asset, while a smaller Micro contract will cover 25 BCH. For Uniswap, the standard futures contract will represent 10,000 UNI, and its micro version will cover 1,000 UNI. These smaller contracts can give traders greater flexibility when adjusting positions or managing price exposure.

Giovanni Vicioso, Global Head of Cryptocurrency Products at CME Group, attributed the expansion to the increasing maturity of the crypto market. He stated that participants increasingly need regulated tools for managing digital asset price risk and that the contracts were designed to offer greater versatility and capital efficiency.
