Coinbase Global has introduced fixed-rate Bitcoin-backed loans on its Morpho protocol, allowing users to borrow USDC against BTC. The fixed-rate loans are structured to provide borrowers with locked-in terms similar to traditional finance lending arrangements on-chain.

The launch of fixed-rate Morpho loans and post-quantum Bitcoin custody covers only part of the picture for Coinbase today. Coinbase also revealed a post-quantum Bitcoin custody architecture designed to adapt to any future signing scheme adopted by the network.

Coinbase Global operates a large crypto asset platform in the US and abroad, serving as an infrastructure provider for traders, institutions, and developers who want more predictable on-chain financing and security options. The launch of fixed-rate lending and new Bitcoin custody tools ties directly into its role in this capacity.
