Coinbase Teams Up with Stablecore to Bring Crypto Services to Thousands of US Banks
Coinbase has partnered with banking technology provider Stablecore to connect its digital asset infrastructure with the existing systems used by U.S. banks and credit unions.
The partnership, announced on September 16, will allow participating institutions to offer services such as cryptocurrency custody, trading, staking, and stablecoin payments through their existing digital banking interfaces.
Stablecore's technology is connected to more than 3,000 U.S. financial institutions, according to the companies, although not all of them are expected to automatically offer Coinbase's digital asset services.
Amarillo National Bank in Texas is already implementing the combined technology, and Coinbase Head of Infrastructure Business Alec Lovett said the arrangement is intended to make digital asset services more accessible to community financial institutions.
