CoinEx Winds Down: Trading Cutoff on Sept 29, Withdrawals End Dec 22

CoinEx has announced that it will stop spot trading on September 29 and close withdrawals on December 22, marking the end of its nine-year operation. The exchange cited a prolonged crypto downturn, reduced industry liquidity, tighter regulation, and rising compliance costs as reasons for its shutdown.

The distinction between trading and withdrawals matters: customers who want to keep assets in their original form must do so by September 29, while those willing to receive USDT have until December 22. On September 15, CoinEx stopped new registrations, and on September 22, it put futures markets into reduce-only mode.

CoinEx says its asset reserve ratio exceeds 100%, but customers should be cautious: withdrawals will move into independent custody after December 22, with a monthly charge of 5% of the original balance. The final claims deadline is August 22, 2028.
