Crypto Market Enters October with Cautious Optimism
Crypto market sentiment is cautiously optimistic as it enters October, often referred to as Uptober. This period has historically seen strong performance from Bitcoin, with the cryptocurrency finishing higher in 10 out of 13 years between 2013 and 2025. However, the 2025 market broke the six-year winning streak, highlighting the limits of seasonal patterns. Institutional demand has remained strong, with U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs attracting approximately $2.4 billion during the week ending September 25, their strongest weekly inflow since October 2025.
Ethereum has also seen significant gains, with the token rising roughly 7% in September and finishing the month around $2,650-$2,700. The upcoming Glamsterdam upgrade is a major catalyst for the network, with testing for the upgrade scheduled to begin with the first public testnet on October 6. Technical analyst Ali Martinez has identified a previous breakout from a similar formation that was followed by a 31% gain over three days, suggesting a move above $2,474 could create a path toward $3,000.
XRP has also benefited from the late-September altcoin rebound, trading mostly around $1.48-$1.55 toward the end of the month. Institutional demand has remained notable, with U.S. spot XRP ETFs recording 11 consecutive weeks of inflows and approximately $1.79 billion in cumulative inflows as of September 25.
