Dogecoin Gains Momentum as ETF Inflows and DogeOS Testnet Boost Sentiment
Dogecoin (DOGE), often dismissed as a meme cryptocurrency, continues to show surprising resilience in the market. Recent positive developments have contributed to its upward momentum, though the path forward remains uncertain.
The Dogecoin ETFs have experienced three consecutive weeks of inflows, totaling approximately $3.5 million. The first week saw inflows of about $284,500, followed by a significant surge to $2.8 million in the second week. The latest week recorded inflows of $327,360. While these numbers are modest compared to Bitcoin ETFs, they represent a notable shift for Dogecoin, whose ETF assets grew from $12 million in mid-September to $16.2 million at the time of reporting.
In addition to ETF activity, Dogecoin's ecosystem is evolving with the launch of the DogeOS public testnet for developers on September 30th. This platform allows for testing payments, trading, lending, and gaming applications built on DOGE. However, fees on the testnet are paid in test DOGE, which has no real value, and DogeOS is not an upgrade to Dogecoin itself but rather a separate layer.
As for price action, Dogecoin was trading at $0.0946, nearly 20% above its mid-September low of $0.079. The token briefly reached $0.106 before stabilizing between $0.091 and $0.099. The Relative Strength Index (RSI) remained above neutral, and the On-Balance Volume (OBV) held steady at about 154.31 billion, suggesting sustained buyer interest. A clean break above $0.10 could provide the necessary momentum for a stronger rally.
