DogeOS Testnet Fails to Spark Dogecoin Price Surge
The launch of DogeOS' public testnet has provided Dogecoin with a fresh development story, but the memecoin's price has not seen a significant boost. The testnet, which allows developers to experiment with payments, trading, lending, games, and other services using DOGE, has been open since September 30. Although the testnet uses test DOGE for fees, which has no market value, developers can obtain it through a faucet provided for them.
The project, DogeOS, is a separate application layer built around Dogecoin, not an upgrade to the main blockchain. As a result, it is expected to give DOGE more uses beyond payments and trading. However, the price of DOGE remains stuck below the $0.10 level, with support showing around the $0.092-$0.093 price range.
The testnet's launch has not led to a substantial price increase, but DOGE has managed to stay above previous resistance levels. If it breaks through the $0.10 barrier, it could open the door to the recent high near $0.105. However, the area between the $0.092 and $0.093 price levels is currently the nearest support, and a loss of this range could lead to a fall towards the $0.087 price level.
