Vitalik Buterin has updated Ethereum's roadmap to prioritize privacy, quantum security, and simplification.

In an update to the original roadmap, Buterin has rearranged some items to reflect changing priorities. Quantum security is now a higher priority, while some items such as VDF and EVM improvements have been downgraded or replaced with new technologies.

New additions to the roadmap include strong privacy measures, radical scaling in a post-quantum context, simplification of specifications for formal verification, blob and gas futures, native rollups, and allowing for a more open design space for 'the future of EVM.'

The update also highlights common themes in scaling, including creating specialized mechanisms with stricter properties that are more scaling-friendly. STARKs and AI-accelerated FV are expected to be first-class citizens in Ethereum's technical future.
