Ethereum Unveils Ambitious 2030 Roadmap with Recursive STARKs and Quantum Safety
Ethereum's architecture is set to undergo significant changes by 2030, according to Vitalik Buterin. The Ethereum co-founder outlined the network's future development plans in a blog post, stating that the Hegota upgrade, planned for next year, will likely be the last 'normal' fork before recursive STARKs and other advanced cryptographic techniques take over.
Buterin described the current state of Ethereum as a 'hybrid architecture' combining blockchain design with modern cryptography. He noted that the network's design has changed significantly since its inception, incorporating new features such as PeerDAS and SNARKs to improve efficiency and security.
The upcoming Hegota upgrade will introduce several key features, including recursive STARKs, automated formal verification, and highly optimized consensus algorithms. These changes are expected to make Ethereum more quantum-safe and increase its performance capabilities.
Buterin also discussed the potential benefits of decentralization in terms of performance, stating that a decentralized network can store larger volumes of data in parallel and allow for high-volume computation within the mempool.
