A proposal to burn part of Ethereum validators' staking rewards has been withdrawn from the Hegotá upgrade. The EIP-8363 authors, led by Jérôme de Tychey, president of Ethereum France, announced the withdrawal on Thursday.

The proposal, which aimed to change the issuance policy, was met with caution from industry players and core protocol and client contributors. They argued that fork scoping was not the right venue for an issuance policy change.

Jérôme de Tychey stated that the authors agreed with this view, leading to the withdrawal of EIP-8363 from the Hegotá upgrade.
