Ethereum's Validator Queue Hits Record Backlog Amid Yield-Distributing ETF Surge
The Ethereum network's validator entry queue has reached a significant backlog of 45,000 activations, alongside a massive ETH deposit queue of 1.95 million as of September 8, 2026.
This congestion is largely due to heavy inflows from yield-distributing ETFs and corporate treasury staking, which have driven up the number of validators on the network.
The current staking APR averages 2.78% across 897,000 active validators, with MEV-Boost adding an additional 0.5% to 1% to these returns, bringing the realistic all-in yield to between 3.3% and 3.8%.
