Ethlabs Urges Hegotá Priorities: Censorship Resistance and Faster Blocks
Ethlabs, an independent nonprofit R&D lab focused on Ethereum and ETH, has released its recommendations for the upcoming Hegotá upgrade. The group's top four priorities are censorship resistance, faster blocks, native account abstraction, and continued Layer 1 scaling.
The current proposed features for Hegotá include FOCIL (Validator-created Inclusion Lists) as the only scheduled feature, while Frame Transactions have advanced to 'Considered for Inclusion' status. Ethlabs ranks Quick Slots as its top priority, proposing that Hegotá begin reducing Ethereum's 12-second slot time.
The nonprofit also backs EIP-8131 and EIP-8279 to constrain payload growth and support higher gas limits safely. Ethlabs describes itself as an independent nonprofit R&D lab focused on Ethereum and ETH, with several team members also co-authoring proposals the organization supports.
