Farage-Backed Firm to Buy Gold Dealer with Ties to His Own Crypto Interests
Nigel Farage's financial interests in the cryptocurrency world are becoming increasingly entwined. His company, Thorn in the Side Ltd., holds a 6.31% stake in Stack BTC, a bitcoin firm that announced plans to buy gold dealer Direct Bullion on September 15th.
Direct Bullion paid Farage £685,500 over 18 months as its 'brand ambassador,' according to his entries in the Register of Members' Financial Interests. The company's revenue was £52.1m in FY26, with an operating profit before non-recurring items of £3.86m and a profit after tax of £2.15m.
Farage's shareholding could be diluted to around 3% if the deal goes through, but he would still benefit from the acquisition due to his role as brand ambassador for a subsidiary of Stack BTC that also owns part of Direct Bullion.
Labour MP Phil Brickell questioned Farage's influence on policy matters given his numerous side hustles and outside interests.
