Hoskinson Predicts Exponential Growth in Crypto as Blockchain Accelerates
Charles Hoskinson, the founder of Cardano, has predicted that the cryptocurrency space is entering a new era of exponential growth, similar to the development of the internet and artificial intelligence.
Speaking at the United Nations, Hoskinson compared the growth of blockchain technology to earlier advances in nuclear technology, the internet, and AI.
He explained that exponential technologies often develop slowly at first but then accelerate rapidly, and that blockchain is now at a similar inflection point to the internet in the 1990s.
Hoskinson also pointed to the growing use of tokenization in financial markets, which allows traditional assets such as equities and real estate to be represented on-chain.
He noted that the tokenized equity data showed growth from around $600 million at the beginning of 2025 to about $3 billion, and that this trend is expected to continue as financial institutions explore blockchain-based settlement and digital forms of money.
