HTX Crypto Exchange Review: Fees, Features, Pros & Cons
HTX (Huobi), one of the world's largest cryptocurrency exchanges by trading volume, has been serving users since its launch in 2013. The platform was created by Leon Li, a former Oracle engineer, and has undergone significant changes over the years, including a rebrand to HTX in September 2023. Today, it operates under an offshore structure, which raises questions about regulatory availability and user risk tolerance.
Despite these concerns, HTX offers a broad product suite and is recognized within the crypto community for its services, fees, and usability. The exchange has faced shifting regulatory requirements in different regions over time, as well as periodic user complaints about support and operational issues typical of large centralized exchanges.
New users can earn up to 1,200 tether by completing simple milestones, including registering, depositing at least 10 tether, executing a spot trade of 10 tether or more, and placing a futures trade of at least 100 tether. To join, app users can tap the gift icon on the home screen to open the Rewards Center and select Beginner Tasks.
HTX supports multiple trading modes tailored to different experience levels, including spot trading, margin trading with leverage up to 5x, trading bot, over-the-counter trading for larger orders, and copy trading. Users can also fund their accounts through crypto deposits, fiat on-ramps where available, and peer-to-peer trading.
