Kiyosaki Treats Bitcoin Like Insurance Against Financial Trouble
Robert Kiyosaki, author of the best-selling book 'Rich Dad, Poor Dad', has been a long-time advocate for investing in assets like gold, silver, and Bitcoin. He recently referred to holding these assets as a form of 'insurance' against financial trouble. In a recent post on X, Kiyosaki framed the argument around a conversation with a woman who questioned whether preparing for economic trouble was overly pessimistic.
Kiyosaki asked her if she owned any gold, silver, or Bitcoin, and reiterated one of the central themes of his investment philosophy: 'I only want money that government cannot print.' He expressed concerns about the loss of purchasing power caused by inflation and monetary expansion, and believes that holding scarce assets outside government-issued currencies provides a degree of protection against these risks.
Kiyosaki's comments are consistent with his previous warnings about the potential for a large financial crisis, which he believes could be triggered by rising debt, inflation, energy-related geopolitical tensions, and weaknesses in traditional retirement systems. He has continued to buy Bitcoin and other assets during periods of market weakness, and has even referred to himself as a 'financial prepper'.
