Kraken Blocks VANRY Withdrawals Until December Deadline
The cryptocurrency VANRY has been delisted from Kraken, and its trading pairs have been set to 'cancel only'. This means that any open orders can be cancelled, but new ones cannot be placed. The last quoted price of VANRY in the euro pair is zero, making it impossible to sell.
The withdrawal deadline for VANRY was originally scheduled for December 10 at 15:00 UTC, but Kraken has blocked withdrawals until five minutes after that time, on December 10 at 15:05 UTC. This leaves users unable to withdraw their funds before the automatic liquidation process begins.
Kraken's delisting notice announced three key dates: September 11 for deposits and trading, December 10 for withdrawals, and December 14-18 for forced liquidation of remaining balances. The exchange instructed its customers to withdraw their assets before December 10, but this is now impossible due to the blocked withdrawal period.
The issue arises from Vanar's decision to pause all transfers on the Ethereum chain, where the old VANRY contract sits. This has resulted in a block at Kraken, preventing users from withdrawing their funds until after the deadline.
