Kraken Brings Hyperliquid Perps to US Market
Hyperliquid's HYPE perpetual futures will soon be available to US traders through a partnership between Kraken and Payward, the parent company of the exchange. This move leverages Kraken's regulated operations in the country to bring Hyperliquid trading to American clients.
Notably, Hyperliquid's web interface is currently blocked from the US market due to derivatives regulations. Despite this restriction, the platform has seen significant growth outside the US, with a total value locked of $6.7 billion since 2023 and handling around 9% of the world's open perpetual positions.
The partnership aims to address regulatory concerns by operating under Bitnomial Exchange and Bitnomial Clearinghouse, both of which are CFTC-regulated and owned by Payward. However, users will need to have their accounts cleared by both NinjaTrader Clearing broker and Bitnomial before trading.
