Kyrgyzstan Tightens Crypto Market Controls with Stricter Regulations
Kyrgyzstan has tightened its control over the crypto market by introducing stricter regulations for companies operating with virtual assets, their owners, transfers, and compliance with anti-money laundering requirements.
The relevant amendments have been made to a 2025 Cabinet of Ministers resolution, which requires virtual asset service providers to submit materials to the relevant authority within three working days if violations are identified during remote monitoring, on-site inspection, or audit.
The National Agency for Virtual Assets and Blockchain Technologies under the President must provide the Financial Intelligence Service with updated electronic registers of licensed virtual asset service providers, information on crypto mining certificates issued, and data on their beneficial owners at least once a month.
Requirements for virtual asset transfers are also being tightened, with transfers above the established threshold requiring complete information about the sender and recipient, regardless of the country where they are registered or located.
