Leverton Takes Reins at Fortitude Mining Amid Zcash Rally
Fortitude Mining has appointed Jaime Leverton as its new CEO, effective September 21. Leverton brings extensive experience in running listed crypto miners to the role, having previously led Hut 8 through its combination with US Bitcoin Corp.
The move comes at a time when Fortitude is attempting to become a publicly traded company via an all-stock merger with medical-technology firm HeartSciences. The combined business will retain the Fortitude name and trade under the ticker 'TUDE', subject to Nasdaq approval, with an implied valuation of at least $400 million.
Leverton takes over from Andrea Childs, who is moving into the role of chief operating officer, focusing on mining operations. Leverton praised the company's 'owned power, owned sites, and a production track record' in her announcement on X.
